Violation of basic human rights in Serbia

Citizens, students and activists in Serbia face repression and pressure every day. In various cities, frequent arrests and identifications are recorded, often without a legal basis, while misdemeanor reports and fines are sent to those who peacefully express their views.
Particularly worrying are the attacks on activists, as well as the incidents at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, where students were forcibly thrown out of the building, with threats to collect their belongings themselves. Similar repression was also recorded at the College of Electrical Engineering and Computing (VISHER), where there was a conflict between students and employees, and then students were arrested.
In this context, the expulsion of the Russian artist from Serbia is also worrying, which activists assess as part of a broader pressure on freedom of artistic expression and public debate.
These events point to systematic attempts to limit the right to peaceful assembly, freedom of expression and expression of discontent, while legal and police pressure is becoming common practice against government critics.
